The model Curtiss P-40 Warhawkwas inspired from the Curtiss P-36 which was designed by Don Berlin in 1934. Through this aircraft the Curtiss Corporation will gain in time its title as the main manufacturer of fighter aircraft in the USA. You should know though that in order to pilot this aircraft you should stick to precise rules and indications which can be a little hard to get used to in the beginning as they are way complicated than many other things including sport rules for example, but once learnt you will have no problem in excellent piloting it.

The engine of the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk is a V 12, an engine model which was modified y Don Berlin at one point thus giving birth to the Curtiss XP-40. This model of aircraft, the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk received at one point one of the largest orders ever made by the USA:  542 pieces of Curtiss P-40 Warhawk at a total price of 13 million $. In time the model suffered a lot of modifications, 19 to be exact, and during that period over 16.802 of models were built.

The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was used a lot in the fights which took place in Russia, Alaska, Pacific and Africa. It was used so much because of its strong construction and the heavy power of fire which destroyed the enemies.

When the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk was demanded Don Berlin thought that he was finally on the right path and that the company will grow and grow. Unfortunately that did not happen because at one point nobody wanted to buy the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk which forced the owner to close its company. It is sad that the manufacture did not survive this blow because it could have been something great.
